My blogging will be limited over the next few weeks. I thought for a moment about whether I should talk about this much, but I decided that I wanted to. After all, as I say above, we’re all in this together.
Two days ago my doctor found a large cyst on my ovary and so I’m sitting here waiting for the phone call from the hospital telling me to “come on down.” I’ll be having a fairly major operation, with 5 days in hospital followed by at least a month of recuperation. All the preliminary tests show that the cyst is benign, which is the most important thing. Hopefully the biopsy will confirm that, but I’m not worried. I believe that I’m looking at a rather uncomfortable month — and of course, the timing is not terrific, but when is it ever? — but then I’ll be moving forward once again.
There are a few reasons why I decided to go public with this personal news. First is that I do feel as if my blog readers are my friends, and friends tell each other these things. But I also expect that this experience will produce all sorts of new thoughts, ideas, imaginings, and I would like to use this forum as a place to sort them through, try them out.
So ta ta for now. I will keep you updated as best I can.
