So often my workshops are held behind closed doors, within schools or universities or other private environments. But I’m happy to say that in October, on Sunday the 13th to be exact, between 10 am and noon, I will lead a workshop called Creating Living Places in Poetry and Prose, and it will be held at the marvellous indie bookshop, Woolfson & Tay.

The workshop is open to adult writers of all levels. We’ll read some of the best examples of writing about place in both poetry and fiction. I’ll give some tricks of the trade. And then I’ll set you free to explore and find your inspiration within the incredibly varied and changing area of Bankside, where the bookshop is situated. Bring that inspiration back to the workshop where you’ll write surrounded by not only books, but some of the best cakes this side of the Thames — I’m sure we’ll be eating them, too.

The workshop is strictly limited in size, so do sign up to avoid disappointment (as they say). I do believe it’s a great value at only £15 for the entire session. You can read about it on the Woolfson & Tay website here. You can also learn all about this and the other events to be held within the SEA Arts Fest here.
That’s my poster in the bookshop window.
