I often do, and it’s not always for my writing. Sometimes I need some inspiration in order to just get on with it, and when I do, I often turn to my old friend TED. TED talks are wonderful things and every now and again I post one here. It’s my dream to give one of these talks one day. I already have it prepared, complete with slides and everything. But I digress….
Last night was one of those nights when, for no good reason, I spring awake at 4 am and worry about nothing. I lie there for hours watching my brain work itself into a delirium. You know what I mean. So this morning, feeling tired and cranky, I turned to TED. I closed my eyes, picked a talk at random, and lo and behold, this is what I saw:
Thanks, pal.
Isn’t it funny how you discover something for the first time, and then it’s EVERYWHERE all at once.
I have just finished Headspace’s 10 minutes for 10 days freebie and I’ve signed up, paid my money and am two days into 15 minutes for 15 days.
I’m not yet sleeping better (I can hope) but I am calmer, happier and having creative epiphanies!
I like that very much, thank you! I learned how to meditate about 8 years ago and have been doing it more recently, when I wake up in the middle of the night. I tried it before sleeping last night and it really seemed to help. It’s an amazing thing, I wish I remembered to do it more!
J&T: I used to meditate every day, and it did me a world of good. Somehow I got out of the habit, though, and this has reminded me that I really must get back to it. My favourite part of the video is where he says you don’t have to get down on the floor. reminds me of another discussion we’ve had about permission…..
