This Saturday, 8 September, the second annual Free Verse Poetry Book Fair will be held in London. In just its second year, this has become an important poetry event, mainly because it is so unique. The festival aims to gather, in one place on one day, a wide range of small and specialty publishers, each with their own tables stacked high with books for sale, many presenting free readings. I had the pleasure of reading there last year, and although I’m not reading this year, I’m still going. I’ll be there for part of the afternoon loitering around the table sponsored by my own wonderful publisher, Ward Wood, and word has it that a few other Ward Wood poets will be there, too, some from the far reaches of the continent, and all of us will have copies of our books there for sale. You can even be among the first to get your hands on the beautiful new edition of my poetry play, Dreams of May! Details can be found here.

So, if you find yourself in London on the 8th, come say hi, look at all the books, buy as many as you can, and support poets and their publishers. We’re an awfully friendly lot.
