I’m definitely off and running!  Last week we had the press launch of Tangled Roots.  I got to wear my new red scarf (see below), and I even made it though my speech without crying.  Better than me gushing about it, I’ll let Anthony Delgrado of bluechrome tell you how he thought the evening went.  You can read about it on his blog, here (he’s funnier than me, anyway).

Then, the next morning at 9.00 I found myself in the BBC Radio Studios, being interviewed first for the book show on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire, and then on Heather Stott’s morning show on Radio Manchester — much more fun than I had ever imagined!  If I can figure out the technology of it all, I’ll post links for you to hear if you want.
And now, it’s a new week.  A speech at my son’s school on Tuesday.  The public launch at Waterstone’s, Notting Hill Gate, London on Thursday 22nd (7- 8.45 pm).  And then, a sort of “book tour” which will find me at various bookshops around the country.  People have been kindly asking me for details, so here is what I know so far, with more specifics to come:
Saturday 31 May Reading
Friday, 6 June Bath
Saturday, 7 June Bristol
Friday, 20 June Liverpool
Saturday, 21 June Manchester

Needless to say, it would be fantastic if any of you could drop by to say hi.  Spread the word. Stories of forlorn-looking writers sitting alone behind tables stacked with books are legendary. I’m bound to get my fair share of awkward situations, but I’d much prefer to see some friendly faces.
And do forgive me if my blog posts are a bit more sporadic over the next week or two. After all these years of waiting, I’m really diving into the deep end now.
