We all love books. And yes, we all love convenience, and even if we don’t love buying from online booksellers like Amazon, we all still do it, don’t we? But let’s face it. There’s nothing quite like walking into a bookshop, having a little browse, talking to someone knowledgeable about books, hell- talking to another book lover. Bookshops are the best, and tomorrow all over Britain they will be feted for the treasures that they are.

The Books Are My Bag campaign is a collaboration between publishers, bookshops and authors and is the biggest ever promotion of bookshops to hit the UK. And all of us can easily take part. All you have to do is drop by your favourite local bookshop, have a chat, buy a book which will probably cost you no more than a latte and a muffin, and walk out with a warm feeling in your heart and maybe even a Books Are My Bag bag.  And if for some reason you can’t make it on Saturday, like the fact that you might be observing a religious holiday like I will be,  you can certainly go some other day and do the same.

Read all about the campaign here. You can even follow all the fun on Twitter @booksaremybag  and on Facebook .

So join the party and help celebrate our love of bookshops everywhere. Readers of the country, unite!
