Every once in a while, something that I post here touches a nerve and ricochets around the blogworld.  My last posting, Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid , seems to have done just that.  Before anything else I write today, I want to say how grateful I am for all the understanding and support I’ve received from my blogging friends during this exciting and nerve-wracking time.  I titled my blog “Me and Others” with a sense of hope at the outset.  But the connections blogging has allowed me to make are real and important.  Thank you all!

Today, I sit vigil, awaiting the arrival of the books!  It’s hard to think clearly about anything much else to be honest, so I thought I’d swipe an idea off of  my blog-friend Cathy‘s blog and do a list of notable things. (I’ll impose some discipline on myself and keep it to three things, just as she does).
1.  Several people have asked for a listing of where my book tour will take me.  The details for that are coming together and I’ll post it all when they are finalized.  But I can tell you about 2 live (gulp) radio interviews that will be happening, for those of you in those areas:
Friday, 16 May 9.30 am  BBC Radio Cambridge: Andy Burrow’s Show
Friday, 16 May 11.00 am BBC Radio Manchester: Heather Stott’s Show
Should be fun  — that is to say, terrifying…
2.  My parents arrive from New York City today to take part in the celebrations.  Their visits are actually never terrifying and always fun.
3.  In the midst of all this about Tangled Roots, things are also heating up with my arts organization, CurvingRoad (which I wrote about here). It now looks like the wonderful play we have been developing by a brilliant young playwright may indeed have a 4-week West End run this coming Autumn!  Mostly fun, with a little bit of terror thrown in.  Details to follow…..
